Britney Spears Reminds Us She's A Pop Diva NOT To Be Messed With As She Claps Back At Lip Syncing Allegations!
After all these years, Britney Spears is officially over those lip syncing allegations.
During a chat with an Israeli TV show, Godney — who is slated to perform in Tel Aviv on July 3 — came after those haters who’ve criticized her usage of pre-recorded tracks. We mean, the Toxic singer didn’t hold back at all!
“I’m glad you’re addressing this question because it’s really funny. A lot of people think that I don’t sing live. I usually, because I’m dancing so much, I do have a little bit of playback, but there’s a mixture of my voice and the playback. It really pisses me off because I am busting my ass out there and singing at the same time and nobody ever really gives me credit for it, you know?”
The hitmaker’s statement on the issue comes shortly after she was accused of lip syncing during a recent gig in Japan. In case you missed it, during her performance of Slave 4 U, Britney got tangled up in some microphone drama… but still somehow managed to have crystal clear vocals ringing throughout the venue. Eek!
Not to mention, Spears was infamously out of sync with her backtrack while performing Gimme More at the 2007 MTV VMAS. But let’s remember that 2007 was a pretty rough year for the A-lister and any transgressions during that time should be forgiven. And, to be fair, Britney and her team have never denied the fact that she relies on prerecorded vocals to pull off her show.
In 2014, the mother-of-two’s manager revealed to Medium:
“To put on the show that she puts on, it’s virtually impossible to sing the entire time and do what she does. She’s singing on every song, basically, when she has the ability to sing. There’s no way you can dance for 90 minutes straight and sing the entire time.”
In short: LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE! Let the pop princess do her thing, m’kay???
