The Chainsmokers Use Lisa Vanderpump's Cause To Soften The Blow Of That China Dog Eating Joke

When Twitter gives you lemons, turn your inappropriate, vaguely racist joke into a political statement!

That’s the route The Chainsmokers are taking after their dog eating comments about China ignited mass social media outrage.

As we reported, the EDM duo got severe heat after Alex Pall joked about not wanting to bring his dog Cheddar along while on tour in China due to a fear of him being eaten.

Fans were particularly upset over this remark because it was made in an interview promoting the band’s performance at Ultra China festival.

But hold your fury! Because not only did Pall apologize for his comment — he turned it into a call to action against the widely-scorned dog slaughtering committed during the country’s annual Yulin Dog Meat Festival.

Pall took to the band’s official Twitter account on Monday to issue a response, making sure to include a link to Lisa Vanderpump‘s anti-Yulin charity for “anyone who wants to help prevent the slaughter of dogs”:

Pivot!
