The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state, Honourable Tony Nwoye, met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

President Buhari who met with the Nwoye at the State House on Friday, October 13, promised to rally support for him ahead of the November gubernatorial election in Anambra.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that Nwoye emerged as the party’s candidate for the state election after he scored 2,146 votes to defeat his nearest rival, Senator Andy Uba who got 931 votes in the APC primaries on Sunday, August 27.

Nwoye also met with the Bauchi state governor, Mohammed Abubakar, who is also the party’s chairman of the national campaign council for the governorship election in Anambra, Daily Post reports.

Abubakar, while addressing the press afterwards said President Buhari has promised to be present at the grand finale of the campaign in Anambra.

Abubakar said: “I am the chairman of the national campaign council of the APC for the Anambra governorship election that is taking place on 18th of November this year.”

“We have had our primaries and we have settled all the appeals, we have done reconciliations. It is therefore time to present to the father of the nation, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the candidate of the APC in Anambra state, Tony Nwoye.

“The President has received us very well and has promised us that Isha Allah he will personally grace the grand finale of the campaign in Anambra state.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that President Buhari also met with leaders of southeast region on Friday, October 13.

The southeast leaders were led to the presidential villa for the meeting by the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu.

The president, while discussing with them, spoke about the number of southeast indigenes in his cabinet and his dedication to eradicate any form of marginalisation in the country.
