Cattle rustler makes stunning confession to police about his operations and how he bought AK47 for N470,000 (photo)

– A 25-year-old cattle rustler and suspected armed robber, Ibrahim Umar, has been arrested by the police, alongside 16 others

– Upon interrogation, Umar disclosed that he purchased an AK47 rifle for N470,000 and has taken part in over 30 operations during which some persons were killed

– The katsina state police commissioner disclosed that the suspect, who displayed special gun-handling skills, would be arraigned in court at the end of investigations

One Ibrahim Umar, a 25-year-old suspected armed robber and cattle rustler, has disclosed that he purchased an AK47 rifle for N470,000 to enable him carry out his cattle rustling operations, Punch reports.

The suspect is a resident of Zamfara state, and was paraded alongside 16 others, at the Katsina state police command on Wednesday, December 6, having been accused of various of various crimes.

NAIJ.com gathers that when questioned about his gun-handling skills, he stated: “Yes, I acquired an AK47 rifle for N470,000 while in the bush and I was using it for the cattle rustling operation.”

Besen Gwana, the Katsina state commissioner for police, stated that the suspect had displayed special gun-handling skills, and had confessed to being part of a 15-man armed robbery/cattle rustling gang which terrorizes Katsina and Zamfara state.

The CP further disclosed that after the police had carried out their investigation, the suspect would be arraigned in court.

Umar told policemen that he had taken part in more than 30 operations in both states, and had killed 4 people during one such operation in Zamfara.

In a related development, NAIJ.com previously reported that troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army under the auspices of Operation Sharan Daji, cleared suspected armed bandits camps in Zamfara and Katsina states.

The raid was carried out in continuation of the clearance of all known camps and hideouts of cattle rustlers, armed bandits and other criminals in the North West geo-political region of the country.

During the operation in Gusau, Zamfara, the troops killed 4 bandits, while some escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops also recovered 5 AK-47 rifles and 11 AK-47 rifle magazine, 205 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition and 25 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO).
