The PSG forward featured for Brazil in the 0-0 draw at Wembley with the Tottenham left-back insisting he can see why there’s so much hype over him
England defender Danny Rose praised Neymar and said it was a pleasure to see the Brazil star up close.
Neymar was unable to make a breakthrough as Tite’s side were held to a 0-0 friendly draw by England at Wembley on Tuesday.
Despite being wayward with his shooting at times, Rose, who started the game as a substitute, was impressed by the Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil star, saying it was great to see the 25-year-old up close.
“He’s one of [the best in the world],” the Tottenham defender said.
“It was a pleasure to see him live and it’s not until you actually watch him you get to see how sharp he is.
“I definitely saw why there’s so much hype about him, why he’s scored so many goals for Barcelona, Brazil and now PSG.”
Rose also commented on the absence of Harry Kane and feels the Three Lions coped well, praising the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jamie Vardy.
He added: “The absence of Kane in any team would be difficult to replace but you’ve got the likes of Marcus, who’s going to go on to great things throughout his career, Jamie Vardy, Tammy and Dom Solanke, we’ve got more than enough quality to cope with Harry’s absence.”
The result marked the second consecutive 0-0 draw at Wembley for Gareth Southgate’s side, with England having also held Germany on November 10.
